The Vision

This will be achieved by…
• An innovative approach to creating an environment that can grow
organically with a masterplan that relates to people.
• Engender ownership and citizenship through the
creation of a Neighbourhood Trust.
• Energy management via a dedicated energy and recycling
centre controlling waste in and power / heat out.
• Managing habitat and ecology as an integral part of a settlement.
• Creating a good mix of people, uses and places
with opportunities to live, work and play.
• Forming an attraction as a catalyst / educator for sustainable living.
• Forming strong transport links with surrounding towns and villages.
Evolution of the vision
The evolving concept
is centred around 5
key components which
are the drivers for the
proposals and are a
natural progression of the
objectives for the site.
The key elements will
help to anchor the
scheme into a unified
whole, whilst giving
a strong sense of
community and image.
